It’s crunch time as we head onto the final month of the 11th Correspondence League – with titles, promotions and relegations all set to be decided.

The final three rounds will all be played simultaneously from Saturday, and the beauty of the format means no promotions have yet been confirmed and the only relegations are down to withdrawals.

Here is how things stand in your group ahead of rounds seven, eight and nine. A reminder – if two players finish on the same score, the following tiebreaks will apply in this order:

#1: Points vs. tied participants
#2: Match wins
#3: Sonnerborn-Berger score against group (not calculated in these league tables).

I’ve tried to include the various tiebreaks in the tables.

Group K (tier 6)
1. Smozi P5 Pts 8 (Sonnenborn-Berger calculation required with SACC_Coach_John)
2. SACC_Coach_John P6 Pts 8
--------------------------------------
3. davides71 P6 Pts 8 (inferior head-to-head record vs smozi & SACC_Coach_John)
4. Intermares P6 Pts 7 (superior head-to-head vs JanneKasperi)
5. JanneKasperi P6 Pts 7
6. LXIVC P6 Pts 6 (superior head-to-head vs LuckyLeftDetroit)
7. LuckyLeftDetroit P6 Pts 6
8. Hedgehog1963 P6 Pts 4 (superior head-to-head vs hydroshadow)
9. hydroshadow P5 Pts 4
--------------------------------------
10. Hasa92 P6 Pts 0

This is surely one of the most competitive groups in the entire league - incredibly the top three are level on points and just two points separates first to seventh!

It could well come down to tiebreaks, so head-to-head results will have a huge bearing on who makes the two promotion spots. Current leader smozi also has a game in hand as black against hydroshadow.

Of the remaining fixtures, smozi vs SACC-Coach_John (round 7) and Intermares v davides71 (round 8) look particularly critical - but with so many of the top seven all due to play each other there's so much that could change. It promises to be a fascinating conclusion to the season.

At the bottom, Hasa92 has been cut adrift but can still stay up with a strong finish, meaning hydroshadow and Hedgehog1963 still have a little work to do until they can stop nervously looking over their shoulders.

Best of luck to all competitors in your final three games!
