Bring back Keyboard

Lichess decided to ban keyboard.

Join this team if you think that is unfair and want lichess to bring it back!

Lichess added the following to their fair play guidelines: "We prohibit the use of any program or browser extension that assists with playing moves."

This is very much illogical, since that would include any software running on your computer, like mouse drivers, or even the OS (operating system). Many players use gaming mice, which have setup programs, which also technically assist with playing moves.

But even on a semantic level, this decision is horrible for the game. The game will go to a state where chess does not matter anymore. It is only a clicking competition. Players with better mice and better PCs now have a much bigger advantage, which makes the game essentially PayToWin.

The game would be optimal if "fast thinking" was the only relevant factor, i. e. if you could directly input moves from your mind. Keyboard was the closest thing we got and the "great equalizer" which did a very good job at removing physical barriers.

Lichess missed their chance to implement the input method themselves and instead listens to overly conservative people who want the site to stay backwards.

Join this team if you are progressive, and want lichess to change their minds about the inherently fair keyboard extension!
