And on openings-Fundamental chess openings and Understanding the chess openings ( two different books)
For middlegame-Simple attacking plans or Chess secrets:The giants of Strategy

can you give an example where you did not understand .

did you try to set the position physcically

chess books are generally not meant to be read you have to set them on board and think unless you can visualize the position
