Loose Pieces drop off! How to stop blundering

rooooks, X is most dangerous symbol, piece can be captured.
? is also dangerous, it means that pieceis not protected enough.
Round arrows is the less dangerous sign: piece is protected, but exchange without material win still possible
bit old topic. But in web site it says please make sure lichess is connected. How? i can see it is not connected.

I can copy paste game id and that loads the situatin but will not update as moves are made
My two cents:

Loose pieces drop off (short: LPDO) is a great concept, one that I always apply in my game. But there is something important to notice:
This is not a concept that needs to be actively applied in my opinion. The concept is a subconscious one. A general truth in chess noone can deny, that is: Be careful when you put a piece on an unprotected square, it might fall prey to a tactic. This has to be understand. Of course this does not mean to refrain from putting pieces on unprotected squares, that is far too limiting. It's more like, always be prepared to check for tactics that include your and your opponent's unprotected pieces. This is key chess strategy, the reason for example why Isolated Queen Pawns are a problem in non-dynamic positions.

Once people understand this concept, they will eventually blunder less (but it still happens, also in my games).

Another important concept in tactical positions that's amazingly useful is: "Check - Capture - Threat"
When you calculate complicated tactics, look out for the most forcing moves, that is, checks. Once you checked them, captures, they are usually quite forcing as well. Lastly, check for threats you or your opponent can pose. This is where motifs come into play: Double attacks, scewers, etc.
That way complicated positions can be broken down into digestible parts and solved accordingly.
