Hello y'all!
If I ever start to stream (something that I wanted to do for quite some time now) - welcome to my streamer page! My name is Alp Arslan, which in Turkish literally translates to "Brave lion". Hence, my lion flair next to my user handle. Born '92 and raised in Lower Franconia, Germany.
I have started playing chess when I was 13 years old. In my first year, I lost every chess game without exception. Giving up? No chance! In junior high school a 2200 rated chess teacher started training our school chess club and I soaked it all in, did all exercises, worked hard to become better. Eventually, success started showing. From there, my chess career has been a love story between me and this game.
Almost 20 years later, I feel like I have not reached my peak, neither rating-wise nor w.r.t. my playing strength. My lifelong goal is to become a FIDE Master one day and get crushed in Titled Arenas by super GMs.
Until then, I want to enjoy this game, further improve, make friends along the way and hopefully play some fine and educational games. I'd appreciate having you all with me on this journey!
