Regium: Extraordinary Claims Require Extraordinary Evidence

Something else has occurred to me. they say "very advanced hardware and software not so much" for this product to exist as seen in the videos, the chessboard would be basically dumb and require quite sophisticated software to control the electromagnets to move pieces, and also a chess engine to know legal moves and whatnot.

linking it to chess sites would be 1. not even needed to sell the product, you could sell it as is without ever linking it to a website. 2. an uncomplicated project compared to the software supposedly already developed to make the board work as seen in the videos. 3. you could sell the product as is and provide the software to link it to websites later.
Those names Philip Davis and Steve Williams are just too GENERIC to be true. I detect a Nigerian prince or Cameroonian nun.
Two issues with the second video:

The fact that the board and pieces look totally different is incredibly suspicious. Why not just use the same board a second time?

The answer, I think, is in the second suspicious element: the lack of detail on the pieces itself. This makes them much, much easier to CGI. While you could CGI normal wood pieces, it would take a lot more time and effort and it would be a lot harder to avoid giveaways.
the second video was probably made with magnet under the table (no CGI needed )
true or no . Is necesary spend a lot of money in this??
It may be a scam, it may be true, whatever. This very "forum post" here is a good place to discuss, and it is enough.

That "big call" at lichess front page, the blog post ( lichess.org/blog/XlE48hEAACIAQv2F/regium-extraordinary-claims-require-extraordinary-evidence ) is just not necessary (at least not anymore).

Time to move on from there. This post is enough. Lichess is not police, should not get so involved with a strange organization, and in the end what the blog post call is doing is just marketing. Bad marketing, but still marketing.

Just saying.

Keep up the good work for chess, as always.

My best.
Dr. Bèco
I'm just kinda sad that the chess community has to deal with these sorts of scams. Kudos to Lichess for providing an effective takedown of this nonsense.
Weaponized geekism at its best. You guys are awesome. Thank you all for blowing the lid off of this scam.
