Regium: Extraordinary Claims Require Extraordinary Evidence

@WildTiger Well, the mechanical turk chess scam ran for hundreds of years without being discovered by law enforcement lol
That troll is absolutely vile, @the_archbishop. I doubt he’ll be gone for long. They discovered that he uses the same font for his stylised ‘L’ on his profile as the Regium logo. What are the chances...
I guess this troll is actually the one and only person behind this scam. Read for instance when he talks of IQ and defends Mensa. His target is internet chess players, but time is ticking and lots of evidence has been shared across the community. Despite his IQ he hasn't been smart at establishing credit. The question is how much this weighs against the vast community of no-questions-asked believers... we'll find out on Tuesday.
@Kaidanov that is not how Kickstarter works. If a project you support fails to deliver on their promises, you are simply out of luck. It's in the nature of these projects that not all of them succeed.

It is the job of the supporters to vet the project beforehand because there is no insurance that the promises are delivered. That's why it is crucial (and understandably a moral obligation) to spell out the shady facts in broad daylight for everyone.
"OK guys. I have an idea. Let's start a Kickstarter campaign and then never release a product. We'll produce videos and photographs that are faked so we'll need a target that isn't known for their critical thinking, studious scrutiny and due diligence. You got any ideas what audience we can target?"

"Umm... How about chess players?"

"Alfredo, you goddamn genius."
@kokkko

So, since you are so quick to defend Regium and so aggressive to everyone else who doesn’t, are you Regium as well? Your account is kinda new :P

Also very quick to leave when things don’t go your way.
The grammar in that email they sent doesn't seem very correct lol
@AcademicNinja99
I wrote, I was going to leave the forum. But this opportunity I cannot miss.
I never heard of Regium before this thread. But I said, and still say, there was no need to hurry, and that lichess was starting a witch hunt for moral obligations. Chessplayers are not so stupid to invest in something that rarely anybody needs. And a witch hunt it is, which you just have proven.
I am trying to picture you @AcademicNinja99 sitting in front of the stake enjoying the witchess burning. Have fun!
You were never going to leave the forum, only to use another of your many accounts in the future.

Anyway, you're wrong. Chess24 and chess.com have accepted sponsorships and made regium publicity. That proves chess players are not above making mistakes and believing false claims.
And that's why we need to share our findings.
